I got unbanned on all accounts the same day everyone else did--19th?
and yeah, things have changed since gw came out, back then there was no support forums and then we had something and now...we have nothing, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, right?
and yeah, I have to agree with Title--they are just unbanning people who got flagged for ???? and they dont know so they wont tell (and it makes them feel superior like the KNOW something, well they may not know is that it looks really bad for them).

How's that for a raw deal.
We screwed up and banned your account, so we'll let you go with a warning this time. But if we screw up and ban your account again, then you're gone for good.

Apparently all of the accounts that I logged into in the past month are banned. I have a buddy that gets me accounts for free, so I do kind of have an ungodly amount. (Think 30+, more than I could ever run at once, I only really used them to smurf and /dance * in towns occasionally) But didn't do anything illegitimate, just afked on rings with 6 or 7 accounts. Also I was playing on one account and occasionally saying a message in multiple districts with another.

So I cannot deny it still hurts that I cannot login at this moment. We used multilaunch and texmod on regular base. We've sent in 3 tickets each at support but no answers. Wondering for reactions or more stories. And I was pretty shocked by the reactions from that named Chris? from Anet. Is this really the reason we are banned? Losing all our work without a warning or anything.. I wonder

I'm curious, did any of you get un-banned yet?
Everyone I know, directly or indirectly, who got banned recently had their accounts restored on the 19th. The only thing we all seem to have in common is that we signed into the game. No bots, no hacks.
Although neither of our accounts ever received an email reply to our tickets, some other people I know got this canned response from ArenaNet. (Their accounts were restored by the way)
"The account you have contacted us about has been permanently closed because it was involved in the use of an illegal third-party program. I want you to know that we take great care when analyzing accounts prior to termination. We are both diligent and conservative in determining which accounts are using programs of this type, and we terminate an account only after we are certain that such use has occurred."
Bullsh*t that they took “great care when analyzing accounts prior to termination”. It's blatantly obvious that they did a blanket automatic ban without looking into any of the accounts they permanently closed. It makes me wonder what word processor or web browser their system detected as an illegal third-party program.
I guess I'm just hacked off that they have no good method of disputing these kind of problems. Every post I made about this mess on their official forums was locked or deleted. Were they really going to handle 3700 banned accounts through their online ticket system? They can barely keep up with their GW2 tickets!
Even worse, I know that there have to be innocent accounts out there that have been banned, and will stay banned as collateral damage. Think about it. They only restored all of these accounts because they screwed up and banned so many at once, causing a huge backlash. Imagine if they only mistakenly banned like 10 accounts? Everyone would assume they were bots. And those banned would only get the generic “we take great care when analyzing accounts prior to termination” email response to their petition. Can you honestly say that ArenaNet has never done that before?

No, not yet unbanned. No response to my ticket, not even an automated "You're botting scum - get fooked!" (Or words to that effect). But then I was banned on 19th only shortly before other people started getting unbanned so I'm probably way down the queue.

Usually takes them a while to do so. Usually they'll find the account and promptly unban it - its what they did with mine anyway.
Least, if they haven't lost the account records.

There's no telling what will be detected, but at this point I think it's safe to assume it was extremely random. The only thing all of us seem to have in common is playing/enjoying gw1. I had a bunch of old friends check their accounts, and anyone that hadnt been playing for a while hadnt been banned, while quite a few of them that had logged in somewhat recently found they had been banned. Theyve all had their accounts reinstated since, but it just goes to show.. Really the only thing we all have in common is we play the game.
Obviously not EVERYONE has been banned/unbanned, but a good percentage of people we know were innocent had been. I'm seriously calling randomness.

When I tried to run it on Linux, sometimes it would display and sometimes not. Once it did display and I was able to play it on a new computer we got for mom. Whenever I did the Linux thing, it was just Linux on the computer. Linux wasn't loaded through Windows or anything.

Today, I finally got on and finished some organizing that was interrupted by the ban. Ran GWx2 on desktop and laptop, trading between 4 accounts. Will post if I get banned. Doubting it though.
P.S. For those thinking these ban waves were done to shut the game down, I think it bears repeating that the game has received a lot of attention to fully automate it as well as the front page of the official wiki being updated (after waiting 2 or more years). I can't believe they'd do this just to shut it all down. If and when they do, there will be advance warning and maybe even a blowout party. The warning for sure.
Hope everyone is doing ok and either gotten their stuff back or will get it soon. Hang in there!

think I will play this weekend...have been taking some time to just organize stuff on my accounts (too afraid to move stuff from one account to another just yet, and still have yet to leave an outpost).
I cant imagine their reasons for this, so my theories are just that --MINE...but who knows? (only they do, and they arent talking, go figure).

Using multi since day after ban(cause I know that wasn't ban reason) I run multiple acc's to nick pre & post. I trade at will between acc's even 40 stack zkeys cause I dumped any wealth off my main acc just as a precaution.

Thank for the sharing.
----------
Really make no sense if we have to turn on multiple pc to arrange our collections.
The only worry is getting ban for no reason and reply for weeks again. Hope they don't ban people when they have no resources for GW 1. After the ban wave, I lost my guild friends and the guild is like abandon. Many disappeared. Some simple quit due to no activity for weeks. Kinda sad hope no anyhow ban again. This is destructive to the game community.
For those innocent people up here who got banned, pls don't leave GW. Continue to let them know that you are innocent. Hope to hear unban news from you all soon.

I found a funny thread on the support forum about a bunch of gw2 accounts mass banned for gold selling (which they QUICKLY resolved )...but guess they are just a mess over there if this is how they detect people.....
